What a
great day it was on Saturday! The grand opening of the River Valley
Farmers Market was attended by over 200
customers. The vendors were
busy and there was music throughout the day.
(…really great music at that!).

Elgin Arts Association has joined the
River Valley Farmers Market. This means that EAA can have a booth whenever
we choose at the Saturday
market in Elgin. We will be able
to show and sell work created by EAA members (only) and provide
children’s art activities (Mark-kid Arts) which will be centered on food
and nature.
Time commitment:
Market
days will require at least 2 people to be successful (one for the
artwork and one for the Mark-kid Arts). This means that
a prior
commitment will be necessary to determine when we can have a booth. Of
course you are welcome to come even if you
are not one of the 2 who
signed up! How often we have a booth will depend on the interest and
commitment of the participating
members.
Participation:
We
know that not everyone will be available to help on market days. This
does not mean that a member cannot have some of
their work for sale.
Other arrangements can be made when it is convenient for you. EAA
always has plenty of opportunities for
members to help so don’t let it
stop you if you have other Saturday commitments.
Cost:
Cost to participating members will be $2 - $6 per market day depending on the number participating.
Mark-kid Art:
Becky
has offered to be the lead for providing art activities for kids. Of
course, Becky will not be able to be at the market each
and every
Saturday. Please let Becky know of your interest in helping with this
activity as well.
