EAA Artist - Gary Vaughn
I
have been an artist for nearly forty years. I have shown my work in
Dallas and Austin, have won awards and sold numerous pieces of
artwork ranging from sculpture to paintings. Having worked in the
fields of carpentry, professional musician, professional model
builder, master craftsman, antique restoration, building engineer,
painting restoration, and musical instrument restoration and repair.
I derive enormous satisfaction from all of my past and current
creative endeavors.
My artistic abilities were first noticed by my father when I was
5 or 6 years old. I had drawn an airplane, something I still do from
time to time, which was three dimensional instead of the usual flat
as a pancake version. My father was my main source of encouragement
and inspiration during my youth.
You can see some of my modeling on display in the atrium at the Elgin Public Library. The current subject is "Birds."
