Each exhibits art and welcomes viewers with open doors, later hours and refreshments. One of Elgin's newest programs for promoting the city as an Arts Destination, Art Walk, promotes all kinds of art and artists, offers alternative places to see and learn about art and hopes to bring newcomers, as well as welcome return visitors to the growing arts community in the city. Currently, there are teachers lined up for workshops on on polymer clay, watercolor painting, collage, stained glass, pottery and photography.
Some workshops will be children only, some will be adults only and some will be adults and children together. Each workshop will produce a particular product - in other words, the person who takes the workshop will walk away with a clay pot they made, or a painting of a giraffe.
