January 2008 Meeting Minutes and Update

Thanks to Bremond House Gallery for hosting our airport exhibit mockup meeting last month. We REALLY appreciate their support!

The airport exhibit was installed January 26 and news is that it looks fantastic! A big THANK YOU to our "art delivery team" - Cheridah Vaughn, Sarah Page and Frank Brabec for giving up an entire Saturday (a beautiful one, at that!) to deliver and hang the exhibit.

A guided tour of the airport exhibit will be scheduled. Because of airport policy, the tour has to be scheduled during the week (Mon-Fri). Our coordinator and "tour guide" has indicated that a Tuesday or Thursday would be best for him. If you would like to visit the exhibit, please check your calendars and let us know at the meeting next week whether a Tuesday or Friday in the next month or so would be best for you. If you won't be able to attend the meeting, please let us know by sending us an email. A day when the most people can attend will then be scheduled and we'll send out a notice. We will need to provide a list of names at least 48 hours in advance of the tour.

NOTE: We will need volunteers to take down and pack up the exhibit and transport it to Elgin on Tuesday, April 22. If you will be available and willing to volunteer for this task, please email Lynette. Thanks!

EAA WEBSITE ARTIST PAGES - Having an artist page on the EAA website is a benefit of being a member. Please send a short bio and photos in jpg format to Dave Warner to take advantage of this great benefit. Even if you have your own website, you can have a page with a bio, photo and link to your website. Let's showcase our talents!!!

The next Elgin Arts Association meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm., Thursday, February 21 at the First National Bank on Highway 290. After a few business items, Michael Strange will demonstrate his signature woodworking technique.

All artists and supporters of the arts are welcome to attend - feel free to bring a friend!

See you on the 21st!
