Election – EAA President. Confirmation of Acting President or nomination of another. In the absence of any other nominees,
Becky moved that Sarah Page be confirmed as President of EAA. The motion was seconded by Elizabeth and carried by
unanimous vote. Sarah will serve as President for the balance of this term ending in December of 2012.
Treasurer’s Report: Elizabeth reports that as of the last statement EAA has $5368.18.
Sarah asked if Elizabeth could work toward separating out the Pearls accounting so that we will be able to have ongoing
information on how much of the money in the account is Pearls and how much is general funds. Elizabeth said she would do
the necessary research to make that possible.
Elizabeth made a formal motion to change the signatories at the bank to reflect changes in the board, removing Nancy Lou
Webster (ex Vice President) and Lynette Hampton (ex President) and to add Mary Glover (new Vice President). The motion
was seconded by Becky and carried by unanimous vote.
Becky reported on her experience last Saturday providing children’s art activities at the Farmers Market. Jan Knight shared her
experiences from participating in a cooperative effort with other artists at the Bastrop Farmers Market.
Becky moved that Elgin Arts Association join the River Valley Farmers Market and have this as a venue for our members.
The motion was seconded and carried by unanimous vote.
We will have our first EAA booth at the grand opening on March 19, 2011. Elizabeth (who is unaccountably available that
Saturday) will be there and Becky will be there. Elizabeth offered the use of her canopy for that day.
Meeting schedule for 2011 – handout (find attached)
Other Business: Jan Knight offered to make ceramic pigs the prize ribbons for Pearls this year. We will need to get some
pink ribbon to attach to one for each entrant, and different ribbons for 1st, 2nd ect. What a fabulous gift! Thank you Jan!
There being no other business, the business portion of the meeting was adjourned at 7:05 pm.
Next for fun!
Show and Tell was wonderful, Elizabeth shared the story of her grandson Aiden who is autistic and Aiden’s art.
Becky shared some of her knot art, done with lovely copper wire and beads. I played my new song. Jan Knight shared
a delightful tea pot and Angela showed us a work in progress, a quilt and told how quilting has been such an important part
of her life. I wish I’d have gotten a picture of the quilt though… Mary Glover shared a watercolor she did after attending a demo
that Elizabeth did for her club in Austin.
I was inspired and delighted!!!

I tried to get a close up of Jan’s tea pot but it doesn’t show up well at all.
After the Show and Tell we all helped create letters for the Mark-kid Art signs. Each unique and lovely.
Thanks to everyone for attending!
