EAA June 2010 News

Greetings,

The June mini workshop was presented by Elizabeth Sullivan and was great! Participants enjoyed experimenting with watercolor on several different types of rice paper. Elizabeth shared different techniques for making the most of the interesting papers. Thanks Elizabeth!

Pearls Before Swine planning is gearing up. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! Please do help. Also, please consider what you will create and donate for the auctions, and of course, what you will enter in the show itself. The scholarship fund needs you!

The next meeting will be a general membership meeting on Thursday, July 15th at Elizabeth Sullivan's home (408 N. Avenue E in Elgin) at 6pm. Sure hope you can make it.

We are having the meeting earlier than usual so that people can possibly still attend the event at the Elgin Public Library - info below:

The movie Fresh (Produced and directed by Ana Sofia Jones in 2009) will be shown in Elgin on Thursday July 15 at the Elgin Public Library at 7:00 p.m.

Local businesses and organizations have joined together to bring this showing to Elgin and host a panel discussion. Movie goers are encouraged to make a free will donation which will benefit the Elgin Community Cupboard. FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who support our food system. The greater Elgin area is home to a variety of farming. The movie and panel discussion will provide an opportunity for the community to discuss a wide range of agriculture and the connections to our community. Thanks to www.freshthemovie.com for synopsis. For more information contact Stacey Van Landingham at 320-6993.
